Hakan Lidbo

Hakan Lidbo from Stockholm has released about 170 records on labels like shitkatapult, force tracks, pokerflat, ministry of sound, moody, plastic city, loaded, skint, paper, lasergun, moon harbour etc.
His major musical influences are himself, as he made so much music. Otherwise artists like Miles Davis, Herbie Hancock, Giörgi Ligety, Igor Stravinskij, Kraftwerk, Holger Hiller, Peter Thomas, Yello, Ryuichi Sakamoto, and Brian Eno pushed him forward. Other influences of his creativity are art, architecture, jesus, buddha, his daughter, and clever people in general.
Additionally his music is inspired by artistss like Jamie Lidell, Björk, Jimi Tenor and Matthew because they constantly re-invent themeselves, they never stick to the same thing.
But, when did he decide to be a musician? „When I drove by car in 1986, I suddenly realised that I would work with music for all my life. There was no special reason, nothing special happened, I just realised that and drove on.“

At the moment he doing a radio show on a national Swedish radio together with Andreas Tilliander (mille plateaux, type, resopal etc) and he is involved in a series of conceptual projects. Some will end up as records, some as films... However, he is not doing so much 12"s any longer. But, be sure and relaxed: he will do 12"s for the floor again, and we can expect tons of releases in the future, again.
„I hope my old shit won’t be forgotten, I hope there will some releases with some sort of "best of hakan lidbo" or maybe some of my live recordings. But im also planning to release a few albums on my own label, on jetset (jap), mantis (uk) and mitek (ger).“
